Service questions
How often should brakes be inspected?
A good rule of thumb is to have your brakes inspected at least once a year or whenever you notice a change in braking feel or sound. We can advise on a schedule that fits how and where you drive.
Do I need to replace rotors every time I replace pads?
Not always. We measure rotor thickness and inspect the surface. If they are within specification and in good condition, they may be resurfaced or reused.
How often should I change my oil?
Intervals vary by vehicle and oil type. We follow your manufacturer's recommendation and can tailor it to your driving habits and Washington's climate.
Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?
A steady light often means you can drive short distances, but a flashing light usually indicates a more serious issue. When in doubt, it is best to have it checked promptly.
How do I know if my transmission needs service?
Watch for changes in how the vehicle shifts, unusual noises, or leaks. We can inspect the system and recommend service based on what we find.
How often should I rotate my tires?
Many vehicles benefit from rotation at regular service intervals. We follow your manufacturer's guidance and inspect wear patterns each visit.
How long should a car battery last?
Battery life varies with climate and usage. We can test your battery's condition and let you know whether it is time to plan for a replacement.
Why is my A/C blowing warm air?
There are several possible causes, from low refrigerant to a failing component. We can evaluate the system and identify the source.
What causes a bouncy or unstable ride?
Worn shocks or struts are common culprits, but other components can contribute. We inspect the full system to identify the cause.
